The Lover In Me is the title track of Sheena Easton's 1988 album for MCA Records. The song, written by Babyface, L.A. Reid and Daryl Simmons, and produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface, was the first track from the album to be released as a single. Although hugely popular in the U.S., The Lover In Me failed to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart thanks in no small part to Lost In Your Eyes, a ballad by Debbie Gibson. Instead, The Lover In Me peaked at No. 2, and remained in the Hot 100 for 12 weeks. The song also peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club play chart.
The Lover In Me (Ben Liebrand Remix) is a mix produced by Ben Liebrand for the UK remix service, Disco Mix Club. The remix first appeared on the compilation, Various - February 89 - Mixes 2.
