What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) is a song first released as a single in 1988 on Tommy Boy Music. It peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 2 weeks in July '88 - It also peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in October '88.
The "pure energy" refrain is a sample of a comment made by Mr. Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy, in an episode of Star Trek called Errand of Mercy first broadcast on 23 March 1967.
