The Lover In Me is the title track from Sheena Easton's 1988 album for MCA Records. The song, written by Babyface, L.A. Reid and Daryl Simmons, and produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface, was the first track released as a single. Although hugely popular in the U.S., The Lover In Me failed to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart thanks in no small part to Lost In Your Eyes, a ballad by Debbie Gibson.
