Released as a single in April 1984, Let's Hear It For The Boy topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Hot R&B Singles and the Hot Dance Club Play chart. The song features in the 1984 hit movie, Footloose starring Kevin Bacon and on the accompanying original motion picture soundtrack. Also on the soundtrack is Holding Out A For A Hero by Welsh songstress, Bonnie Tyler and Dancing In The Sheets by Shalamar. The song is also the title track of an album by Deniece Williams first released in 1984.
